15 August 2018: The Trumpets are opr’s formal employee recognition program that recognises and rewards behaviours across the business that are aligned to our five company values – Bravery, Creativity, Curiousity, Innovation and Partnership.
There are four quarterly winners. Of these four, one receives the ‘Lion King Award’. A standout winner is chosen to receive the best of the best prize, The Hartmann award, in honour of Bravery and the late Michael Hartmann.
Michael Hartmann was a former colleague and dear friend who sadly lost his battle with brain cancer in 2016. His positivity and friendly nature touched everyone who worked alongside him and we are full of admiration for how he handled his illness – with a “no negative talk” mantra, he was BRAVE. He was brave on several fronts and was always pushing people to follow their dreams, after all life is short.
In memory of Michael, we launched the “Michael Hartmann Award” in 2016 where Michael’s wife Jacqui and sons Max and Gus attended the launch and helped present the Trumpet winner.
The previous winners of the Michael Hartmann Award were Jacquie Potter in 2016 and Rebecca Crawford in 2017.
This year the Hartmann Award was given to James Curtis of Pulse Communications. James was nominated for going above and beyond and living out our core values on a daily basis.
Congratulations to James and all our winners. We thank everyone at opr for their exceptional work. And a special thank you to Michael’s family for being involved in the launch.
