Sydney, September 24, 2015: opr Australia and its clients have secured five Asia-Pacific Gold SABRE Awards.

Announced last night in Hong Kong, opr took out wins in five categories, the largest of any country. It was also a good night for the opr network winning 11 awards, including Platinum for best in show and 2015 Regional PR Consultancy of the Year.

Group Managing Director, Howorth, Graham White, said the awards recognised the consistently best-in-class work opr and its specialist agencies produce for clients across a range of disciplines.

“We’ve been incredibly proud of the work that our talented teams produced to generate13 nominations,” said White.  “This morning, to have won five we’re even prouder that this hard work has been recognised in one of the most hotly-contested PR award schemes in the region.

“The teams are buzzing this morning and thrilled with the outcome, which quite frankly wouldn’t have been possible without their commitment, creativity and effort, plus the strong support of our valued clients to approve the work and campaigns in the first place.”

• AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR: The Release of Peter Greste—Al Jazeera English with Howorth and Parker & Partners

• FINANCIAL COMMUNICATIONS: Expectations vs. Reality of Retirement in Australia: Launching a Game Changer—Mercer with opr

In addition to the Gold SABRE awards announced last night, Howorth also won the Brand Digital Platform award in the 2015 ‘In2 SABRE Awards Asia-Pacific’ for the #YearOnTwitter campaign.

The agency also picked up two Certificates of Excellence. First, in the Broadcast Media category for AncestryDNA: Australia, where do you come from? and second, in the Digital Newsroom category for #YearOnTwitter.

“Everyone involved in the awarded campaigns not only worked extremely hard, but remained focussed on the fact that our main objective is to deliver results that drive real business outcomes for our clients,” White continued.
